We have had a challenging past 6 months. Our family of 3 plus 2 dogs moved across country leaving beautiful sunny San Diego for New Jersey. As happy as I am to be close to family and friends again I didn't realize we had started a small family in San Diego. I miss my moms group and work friends way more then I thought I would. Most of all I miss being 5 minutes from the beach and 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. There was always so much to do. Its been raining a lot in NJ which means being stuck in the house. This is hard to do when you are used to no rain!
We recently bought a house. We have a lot of work to do which is hard when you have 16 month old running everywhere. My goals right now are to paint the kitchen and Grace's room. We finally went and bought the paint/supplies yesterday. By the end of the month my house will finally be painted! I cannot wait to have Grace's room all set up the way I in visioned it.
Being a working mom is always very challenging. I would give anything to be able to stay at home with Grace. While on maternity leave I joined "Rookie Mom's of 2012" group. We were all new moms and around the same age. We would go on walks, to Balboa Park, zoo, or just get together at each others homes. It was the best thing I've ever done. I was so nervous the first day meeting everyone as I have never done anything like that before. Being back in New Jersey I wish I had time to join a moms group to meet more people.
The reason we moved home was so Grace would grow up around family. Every time I see her with my parents or sister I think it was worth it. We can always move back to San Diego but my family cannot get those years back with Grace. This blog will be about family, friends, new house decorating, crafts and my struggle of being a working mom.
We have been working on Grace's room. It is not anywhere done yet but getting there!
Sean, Layla, Buddy and I went to Del Mar for a long walk on the beach. It was low tide so the dogs were able to run around. I am now a little over 32 weeks. 8 more to go, maybe less!!! We also just finished the crib. Hopefully we will have Grace's room finished in the next few weeks and I can put up some pictures. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The ultrasound tech pointed out that Grace already has hair! Sean said he was born with a full head of hair so she is already taking after her dad.
Here is a cute photo of Grace's lips and nose. I think she has Sean's lips and Sean thinks she has my nose. Can't wait to see what she really looks like!
We didn't get that great of a profile picture today.. but she did open her mouth for one picture.
We will be having another growth scan in 3 weeks to make sure she is continuing to grow. She doubled her size in 2 weeks that was great news today! Less then 9 weeks to go!
Our second Christmas in San Diego. We love our tree. Buddy keeps trying to eat the tree and tree skirt though. You can't take your eyes off him for a second!
This is the best profile picture we have. At our 19 week ultrasound Grace was moving so much all the pictures were blurry. We are having another ultrasound on December 14th hopefully we will get another great picture!
